Karen Booth
Karen Booth is the Chair of the Australian Self-Care Alliance (ASCA), a collaboration involving healthcare consumers, health promotion charities, policy experts, and industry stakeholders dedicated to promoting self-care as an integral component of all physical and mental health services and policies across Australia. ASCA encourages health consumers to seek and use evidence-based self-care information, education, and guidelines, and to use of their own health data to help inform choices about their own health and care. Karen is a registered nurse and has worked in primary healthcare for more than 20 years, setting up systems in general practices, including nurse-led clinics in health promotion, preventive health and chronic condition management, to support a team approach to care. Karen works as the Chief Clinical Adviser Nursing, for the Australian Digital Health Agency as is the immediate past president of Australian Primary Health Care Nurse Association.
