Emily Bofinger

Emily Bofinger is an Assistant Director in the PBS Compliance Section and a registered pharmacist, bringing firsthand experience from her earlier career as a community pharmacist. Her time in community pharmacy has shaped her practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the sector. In her current role, Emily focuses on ensuring the integrity and effective delivery of Australia’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) through regulatory compliance and policy implementation. She works closely with stakeholders to support the quality use of medicines and strengthen the integrity of the PBS. Emily is passionate about supporting pharmacies through clear, practical guidance and collaborative engagement, drawing on both her experience and policy expertise. She has led and contributed to key compliance initiatives within the PBS, helping to shape consistent approaches to compliance and education across the sector. Emily is particularly interested in improving transparency and clarity around compliance expectations, enabling pharmacies to better understand their obligations and confidently adapt to emerging trends and regulatory changes.
