Dr Karl Kruszelnicki AM is one of Australia’s best‑known science communicators, sharing his love of science for more than 30 years across TV, radio, print, and online. A prolific author of 48 books, he holds degrees in physics, mathematics, biomedical engineering, and medicine. Dr Karl has worked in a remarkably diverse range of roles—from physicist and filmmaker to car mechanic, TV weatherman, and medical doctor. He has been the Julius Sumner Miller Fellow at the University of Sydney since 1995 and is the 2019 UNESCO Kalinga Prize recipient for the Popularisation of Science. His latest TV series, “How Things Work,” airs on ABC TV and ABC iView. In 2025, Dr Karl was honoured as the NSW Senior Australian of the Year.
