Angelo Pricolo is a Melbourne based pharmacist who has been involved in the treatment of addiction and harm minimisation for 35 years. A pharmacy owner for 25 years, Angelo has been a National Councillor of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, a member of the PSA Harm Minimisation Committee and a sessional tutor at Monash University. He currently holds the position of senior research pharmacist at Doherty Clinical Trials. In 2016, his successful application to the TGA led to the down-scheduling of naloxone from S4 to an OTC medicine and in 2019, he made history as the first pharmacist in Australia to administer long-acting injectable buprenorphine to a patient – helping pave the way for pharmacy to become a widely accessible destination for medicine administration.

In 2008, Angelo produced the documentary ‘Fighting the Dragon with Luck’ to help educate more people about addiction. That same year he was named Australian Pharmacist of the Year.
